K1_V09 - Breaststroke Legs Without Support

Minis-Kurs 1

Breaststroke Legs Without Support

Description: Children swim using only breaststroke leg kicks without any equipment, with arms stretched forward or relaxed along the body.
Technical Goal: Independent execution of a correct breaststroke kick and maintaining body position without external support.
Coach’s Message: “The legs carry the whole body!”
Game: The little frog swims on its own, without fins or a ball, relying only on its legs.
Execution:
• Children are in the water with arms stretched forward or relaxed along the body.
• Movement is done using only breaststroke legs.
• The kick is slow and controlled: open – close – short glide.
• If needed, the exercise is performed over a shorter distance.
Progression: Extend the glide phase after each kick and try to swim the same distance with fewer kicks.
Observe:
• Heels do not come together → “Close the door with your feet!”
• Hips sink → “Belly up, the frog is swimming!”
