K2_V04 - The Waiting Hand

The Waiting Hand

Description: During freestyle swimming, one arm stays by the body while the other completes a full arm stroke.

Technical Goal: Control of the recovery phase and shoulder rotation.

Coach’s Message: “One works, one waits!”

Game: Switching like a traffic light.

Execution:

  • Slow rhythm.
  • Focus on high elbow and shoulder rotation.
  • The coach demonstrates the movement.

Progression: Perform a longer stroke without increasing speed.

Observe:

  • No rotation → “Rotate the shoulder!”
