The Long Arm
Description: Freestyle swimming with a brief pause of the extended arm in front before starting the pull.
Technical Goal: Long arm stroke and shoulder rotation.
Coach’s Message: “Reach as far as possible!”
Game: Reaching an imaginary treasure.
Execution:
- Arm stays briefly in front, then completes a full stroke.
- Swim rhythmically.
Progression: Hold slightly longer without slowing down.
Observe:
- Pause too long → shorten the pause
- No rotation → “Rotate the shoulder!”
